Broke In My Pizza Plates With Hang Power Snatches
This morning I broke in my pizza bumper plates in a WOD with hang power snatches.
This morning I broke in my pizza bumper plates in a WOD with hang power snatches.
I had been going lighter but faster on WODs for a while, but recently I have been going heavier. I continued that yesterday and today.
It was a nice day today. It felt great to relax on the patio and get some sunshine after two WODs in the garage.
I have been going light but fast on WODs since I had the flu. I have been wanting to play with heavier weights and today I found a short death by workout to do just that.
I did a WOD this morning, then got to get a few reps in with my 97-pound kettlebell again after being sick.
Every so often, I just want to play with heavier weights in a WOD. I have a few saved just for the purpose that look like the right rep scheme and combination to do that.
I was not feeling it at all this morning. It turned into just a do-something day. At least I got out in the home gym and did something.
The vault WOD was not one I wanted to do. I did it super early this morning in the garage before the sun even rose with no music.
I wanted to use the 40-pound dumbbells for a workout and hit it with intensity, so I found one that made sense to do so.
I wanted to push the weight in m workout of the day today. I ended up using the 40-pound dumbbells for the presses in a WOD.
I have been taking WODs relatively easy for a while now. Glad I can finally bump the intensity.
Today I hit a WOD hard after a couple of sluggish days.
Some days, a simple workout feels like a chore. Today was one of them.
Dumbell snatches are a movement that I am able to do very quickly most of the time.
Last night I got a text about kettlebells. That text made me want to use one today in my workout for the day.
I am getting consistent with my squats again and feeling less rundown. I made five of the three plus AMRAP at 270 pounds this morning.
I successfully made one squat at 300 pounds this morning. It felt pretty good after a mentally tough cycle.

I got my strict presses in from last week, then got my squats in from this cycle. After that, I got a WOD in, so it was a pretty busy day for me in the garage.
I didn’t sleep that well last night, and today was my first fairly heavy day for back squats since I was sick. It was tough, but I got one at 285 pounds.

Continuing the saga of doing old WODs because of the shit ones they’ve been programming, I found a simple one. It really spiked my heart rate!

I got my three squats at 290 pounds this morning and they felt pretty easy.
Last night, I did not sleep well or long enough. I got a WOD in early this morning, then it got nice out, so I felt like doing squats. They felt good.
It has been months since I have gotten up to what I’d call a heavy weight for squats. Today, my two at 290 pounds felt spectacular!
Today I did my first true double WOD day since last spring, when the shit hit the fan. I actually got some intensity in.
Even with feeling stiff, I got two squats today at a pretty heavy 285 pounds.

I got to my deadlifts today after passing on them yesterday due to lack of sleep and feeling funky.
Last night, I slept great. I just didn’t sleep long enough.
My wrist felt good this morning, so I decided to push it with the kettlebell swings in the vault WOD.
I knew it was aggressive to attempt my back squat at 320 pounds, but I wanted to anyway. It was a fail, but I did expect that would be likely.
I had a stuffy head when I woke up. It certainly made my heavy deadlifts and then a WOD feel like an adventure. Luckily, the WOD opened my head up.
I did a simple WOD this morning, and it left me feeling pretty shaky. It wasn’t even that bad of a workout. Later I did my heavy squats and they did the same to me.
I got this week’s vault workout done this morning. It went better than I expected.
This year I did not sign up for the CrossFit Open, but if the workouts aren’t completely dumb, and I can do them, I want to.
This morning I did a light WOD and my deadlifts. They both felt pretty good.
Today I decided to start my next cycle of lifting. Squats felt heavy but great this morning.

I wanted a challenging but simple WOD for today. I settled on redoing an old death by burpees workout with my 20 pound weight vest.
I slept great last night, but I’ve been feeling tired all day. My deadlifts this morning felt great, then I went for a heavy single front squat this evening.
I’ve been holding off on my squats because I was sick and bloated, but I finally got around to this week’s session this morning. I still wasn’t feeling it, but I got them done.
We went to Joy’s last night, so, of course, I slept poorly. I still wanted to push it with a WOD this morning, so I did today’s SHIFT WOD but on the bike.
I’ve been feeling a little under the weather and seem to be finally over it, so I went for my deadlifts this morning. They felt pretty good. A WOD felt good too. It was great to get a little more back to normal.
I slept well last night and was feeling like it would be a great day for me in the garage gym. It was!
I slept well last night and woke up wanting to do a WOD with the fifties for a change.

I did a fun but brutal bike and devil press WOD today. I’ve been wanting to redo this one for a while now.
I slept very poorly last night. I woke up a little before one o’clock and spent the rest of the night laying in bed wide awake until I finally got up.
I slept well last night, but still woke up with that holiday funk. Molly gave me a great Christmas gift, and then I gave myself one by doing my back squats today.
I slept great last night, and besides one brief twinge last night when I reached and twisted to flush the toilet, my core’s been fine I did my deadlifts then and an endurance WOD for something different.
I slept pretty well last night and woke up with no real stiffness in my core, so I thought I’d give my squats a try today.
It was nice and mild today, so I took the opportunity to get another sled workout in. We really neglected to use that enough this year.
Today was a nice, mild September day. I decided it was a good time to take the sled outside to get a sled WOD in.
I slept very poorly and have been feeling pretty shitty all day. Somehow, my squats felt great still.
My hand’s been feeling normal, so I thought today was a good day to pick up where I left off on my deadlifts.
I got my back squats in today, but damn if that bar didn’t feel heavy. The weight was only moderate, but it felt like a single.
My hand felt fine today. It’s not sensitive at all, so I wanted to test it out on a WOD. It was going to be a WOD that’s more than nothing, but it turned into a fun one!
It felt great to get back to my squats today. It took a couple of days longer than I wanted because I messed up my hand.
I did a fun WOD today with the bike and squats and pushed myself a little more than I have been doing.
I had to do something to make Molly laugh for Halloween. Last year I had an idea but didn’t go through with it, but I did this year.
I didn’t feel too refreshed after waking up this morning. I didn’t sleep so great but I got my deadlifts done this morning. The heavy lifts felt amazing.
As usual, we went to Joy’s last night, but I slept pretty well. I got my heavy squats in this morning, and they felt great!
Today I did a WOD from later on this week. I thought it’d be fairly straight forward and easy. It was straightforward but certainly not easy.
This afternoon I got my first workout on the assault bike since last winter. It felt great. Now that it’s cooler, I’ll be using that more!
We went to Joy’s last night and then watched the Phillies game afterward. I didn’t sleep long enough or well enough. I still got my heavy squats in this morning, and then we did a WOD outside this afternoon.
Today I was feeling weak. The bar felt super heavy, and even picking up the plates to load them felt heavy. I still made one squat at 300 pounds.
Today I did a WOD that was not easy at all. I was also able to really push my heart rate up while doing the workout.
WODs needn’t be complicated or heavy. After a feeble night’s sleep, we did a simple body weight only partner WOD today before going to Joy’s
This morning I did a WOD that had kettlebell swings. I went with the 32 kg and forgot how great of an exercise they can be. I’d highly recommend people get a proper kettlebell and learn to use it. It takes up virtually no space and is a great piece of equipment to have.
Today was squat day and I was actually feeling tired. Once I got under the bar I knew it would be a great day!
Today was a good day. We got the vault WOD done together outside this morning. Later on in the afternoon, I decided to get my squats done early. The squats were very heavy, and I did better than I expected.
Today was a good day for me in the home gym. My legs were feeling pretty tired but I still got one squat at 300 pounds
Burpees suck. There’s a Street parking program now with four WODs that hour long workouts. Three out of four of them intrigue me. The hour of burpees was the one that didn’t, so I started with that one today.
I’ve been feeling off in the head from the time I woke up this morning. I still felt unbalanced from my head being stuffy when I did my heavy squats and that affected them. Even so, I still got them done.
This evening we were able to go out on the patio and do a WOD together. We spent the earlier part of the day running around and then planting the plants in the garden.
I was feeling pretty good this morning. I was anxious to get a WOD in before we did anything else. I ended up getting my deadlifts in too.
cI haven’t enjoyed a lot of SP’s recent programming, and I haven’t kept it a secret. At least it’s not been months of WODs that are constantly varied Murph Preparation like our old gym used to do.
This morning, I decided to get out of my comfort zone with the shift version of the WOD. Having done a shit ton of pull-ups yesterday, the burpee pull-ups were out, so I did shift and ring rows instead.
We had some thunderstorms move past early this morning, but it dried up enough that the sun peaked out a bit. We squeezed in a shift WOD together on the patio.
We got our grocery shopping done bright and early, then I did my strict presses while Molly was getting her hair done. When she got home, we did WOD together before we ate supper.
The WOD programmed for tomorrow is one that’s had my attention since it was posted. I did it about this time last year and scaled the weight. Today I used the RX weight and missed the goal by a few minutes but still I was happy with how I did.
My back, well, more my side, has been nagging me a bit for the past week or so. For that reason, I have been staying on the conservative side for my lifts and WODs. I did that again today, but the heavy deadlift felt pretty good.
I did not sleep enough last night. My brain woke me up in the middle of the night, then I just found myself wide awake. Eventually, I just got up and drank my coffee. Went and did my heavy squats at about eight this morning.
I have been feeling a bit tired today. I was excited about getting at my back squats this morning, so I got out into the garage as soon as I thought it was reasonable. They felt crushingly heavy, but I got them done.
The deadlifts for today felt pretty heavy, but they felt great. I did the bare minimum of five reps due to blisters on my hand from a long row the other day. The WOD was deceivingly tough, but in a good way.
Today was one of those days that I didn’t feel like doing shit. I woke up feeling tired and had a slightly stuffy head. Just enough shit in my throat to feel annoyed.
I woke up this morning feeling pretty good. It was one of those days when wanted to get something different in for a WOD, though. I thought a longer endurance WOD would be perfect.
Today I did the barbell version of a WOD from a few weeks ago. You had up to fifteen minutes to get up to a certain amount of weight over head. I went with power snatches.
Today I did my heavy presses, and they were certainly tough, but I did better than I would have thought. Shortly after that, I did an old WOD that looked like it wouldn’t be too bad. I was wrong. It was tough, but in a good way.
I’ve been somewhat lazy recently with WODs. Today I wanted to do one and challenge myself with the weight. I dug up an old one that would be a good one to use the 50 pounders for the WOD.
Last week I didn’t get that many WODs in. I was doing my heavy lifts but not much more here in the garage gym. That’s just how last week went.
Today I did really well at my heavy strict presses. Even though I am feeling a bit tired, I decided to give one of the WODs that I quit the other day another go. Today brought success.
Today was much better for me in the garage gym. I felt great doing my deadlifts, then did a WOD and felt great with that. I even got to collect some sunshine on the patio.
Today was a pretty shitty day for me in the home gym. I wasn’t feeling the bench press at all, but did get it done. My first two attempts at WODs were both a no-go Finally, I found one to do.
Today was a mentally slow day for me. I drank plenty last night while I watched the Superbowl. As always, that led to poor sleep.
Today, my deadlifts felt great. They weren’t super heavy, so they should have felt good. Shortly after that, I got in a nice longer WOD.
Today’s WOD sort of repeat WOD. It had the same doublet of movements, but different numbers and a slightly different format. I was disappointed at my result at first until I relaxed that last time I used a lighter dumbbell.
Today was a great day for the first week of back squats in the new cycle. Shortly after that, I figured I would give one of the regular versions of the Vault WOD a try and surprised myself on it.
Today, my legs were feeling like they just didn’t want to go. I did my presses and then a bike WOD where it was just pushing through the slow pain. I guess yesterday took a lot out of me.
My hands are feeling a little raw still today, so I was undecided on whether I wanted to do my deadlifts or wait until tomorrow. I decided to give them a try and they felt surprisingly good.
This morning I did my bench press then a tough bike WOD. Later on in the evening, I got the bright idea to do the hundred kettlebell snatches challenge.
Yesterday I felt great in the garage. It would up turning into a double WOD day for me. I hadn’t intended to do two WODs, but that’s what ended up happening.
This morning I woke up feeling surprisingly good after a few drinks last night. Around 10:00 AM, I got a fun but brutal WOD in.
I slept much better last night. I got my bench press done and that felt great. Shortly after finishing my bench, I got today’s WOD in. The bike is hard.
This afternoon it became sunny and fairly mild, so I decided to take my strongman sandbag out on the patio and get a dirty work WOD in.
This morning, I had to do my deadlifts and then wanted to do today’s WOD. I wanted to switch things up with it and use the air runner, bike, and rower for each machine part of the WOD, and it was fun and really tough.
I’m feeling much better each day. I wanted to get this year’s second vault WOD done and out of the way early, since I didn’t look that fun to me.
I wanted a slightly longer WOD today, as I haven’t had a fever since yesterday. I wanted to push a little harder, so I found a decent bike one.
My first real attempt at a WOD today after having COVID-19 Take two was pretty rough. I cut it short, but felt okay doing it.
My first vault WOD from Street Parking for this year is done and in the books now. Thrusters and Devil Presses, Oh My!
It was mild enough for us to do a partner WOD together outside this morning. Not super warm but nice enough to be outside.
I have been really focusing on trying to use the assault bike as often as I can since we got it. It’s actually slowly feeling more tolerable to me.
This year, my first WOD of the year involved something which still fairly new to me and very uncomfortable. I thought I did pretty well with it, though.
This year, especially the latter half, I’ve been pushing myself with the dumbbell weight’s in WODs. For most of the movements, I am comfortable enough with them to go to the RX or RX plus weights.
Today I wanted to do a challenging WOD. I chose to do one of the old Vault ones. I used the Rx Weight today. Sadly, I don’t know what I used last time.
Burpees suck. There’s one way to make them suck even more. If you do them weight a weight vest, they feel like death.
Today, like yesterday, I went with a heavier weight for the WOD. I used the 50 pound dumbbell for my single arm devil presses, and they felt great.
I wanted to challenge myself with weights on a WOD today. I hunted down an old low rep one. I found a burpee plus clean and jerk one which was perfect to push the weight.
It was a chilly day today but sunny outside. I figured I would take the opportunity to get a WOD in outside around lunchtime, since there won’t be many days when that’s reasonably doable for a while.
Last week I did the row version of a WOD but wanted to do the run version too. I was just waiting for a dry day to do it, and today was that day.
Somehow, I slept well last night. I woke up early and once the trash men left, and I put away the trash can, I headed into the garage to get my squats done. I also got a dirty work WOD in late in the afternoon.
I have been wanting to do the WOD that Street Parking had programmed on Thanksgiving since it was posted. Last week I was feeling a bit off, so I held off in it since I knew it was going to be a longer one.
Last week I was lazy when it came to WODing. I did a couple and barely did my lifts. I had just been feeling so tired with a stuffy head. In hindsight, I may have had a bit of a bug. Felt great to get “outside” and do a WOD today.
Last week I took a brief break from the garage gym. I had been feeling really run down for one. The other thing is my girlfriend had off work, and it was mostly great weather, so we spent a lot of time outside on the trail geocaching.
I had a good day in the home gym today. Despite my knee bugging me, I got a conservative triple at a very heavy weight on the back squats. I beat my old score on a repeat WOD. I even wore my running sucks shirt with my cheetah costume because it’s Halloween, so why not have fun?
Some things I can cycle fast and others not so fast as far as dumbbells are concerned. Today I tried doing them in a death by WOD, and was cycling through the bigger sets easily and much more quickly than I imagined..
I was up and awake late watching the Eagles game last night, so I thought I would feel tired and sluggish in the garage today. It turns out that I slept pretty good and felt great. I crushed my squats and a WOD.
Today’s WOD looked like a fun one and one I thought that I could do pretty well at. In the end it went so much worse than I expected.
It was such a nice day outside with the high in the mid to upper seventies, we just had to take the sled out for a WOD. There was one that looked particularly brutal that I’ve been wanting to do, so I did that one today.
I wouldn’t consider it a terrible thing, but more often than not these days my heart rate stays lower during WODs. My resting heart rate is also down near 50. Today I managed to get my heart rate max into the 180s.
Today’s WOD was one that I didn’t feel like I’d get a lot out of, so I did one from long ago. I have a bunch of the older ones saved in my favorites, so I can do them on days like today. I went way heavier and PRed timewise on it to boot.
It felt great to take the barbell outside for a WOD this afternoon. I’ve been neglecting using that because we’ve been really into the sled work and the sandbag stuff. I decided that it’d be fun to do a sled plus power clean WOD.
I felt good this morning, so I decided that it seemed like it was a pretty good time to try a WOD with heavier weights than I typically use. The rep count was pretty low, so I figured why not?
Today was much cooler than the past few days. It was very refreshing. It was really helpful with my lifting session this morning. A little while later, I did a WOD outside, enjoying the breeze.
One problem that I do sometimes have working out at home is just getting stuck with weights that I am comfortable with. As I get older and the fact that I don’t have a coach watching makes it harder for me to push the weights up in WOD sometimes.
I got the week’s vault WOD over with this morning, then I was sitting on the computer. It was a nice day and quiet, so I took the sled out in the alley.
Well, today, the heat and humidity are here in full force. I did very poorly on my WOD just from that. The heat had me being slow, and the humidity had me slipping around on my sweat.
What a world of difference between last Monday and today for me. Last Monday I had zero energy and was having constant stomach cramps Plus dehydration. Today I had lots of energy, felt great and easily did my, light, lifts and a WOD.
I woke up with my stomach feeling off this morning. Lots of churning after I took my thyroid pill and drank some water. It got worse and keeps feeling like I’m being kicked in the gut. I still managed to get a WOD in.
I slept pretty good last night considering how chilly I felt before I went to bed. I did good with my lifting and then did a tough for me type of WOD.
Busy day today in the garage for me. I did my twenty rep squats plus the deadlift program. When Molly got home we did a WOD together too.
The past couple of weeks I have been skipping the twenty rep squats because I was feeling quite run down. Today I did them and they felt great even though my knee was just pissy the past few days.
Yesterday I attempted this week’s Street Parking vault WOD and stopped right away. My shoulder was feeling tight from the 100 deficit push ups the day before so I thought I should rest it..
I woke up early and squeezed in my lifting session before we had to do other things. When we got home we did the vault WOD together.
I had a pretty lazy day today fitness wise. I’ve just been tired and not feeling like doing shit yet I knew I had to. Finally I settled on a fun little no equipment WOD.
Today I did a fun little rowing WOD. I fucked up in every way possible to get a score but that doesn’t matter. I did the work for myself.
Today was a good day in the garage even after drinking more than usual last night for date night. I was able to do two spring WODS and do them well.
Today I felt really good about how I did with the WOD. I did underestimate it though and the intensity of it really caught me off guard a bit.
Today was a day when I wanted to push myself way out of my comfort zone. I did the vault WOD which involved a lot of dumbbell deadlifts. I’m not comfortable at all with those.
Today my brain and body felt like they were just running in slow motion during the WOD. I did it at a slower pace than I might have on a good day but it was good to get a workout in.
Anyone who knows me knows of my intense dislike of running. Being visually impaired really puts a damper on any joy I would get from it. This year, for Halloween, I decided to have a little fun.
It doesn’t happen that often but I walked away from a WOD out of frustration due to my vision. I can count on my hands how many time that’s occurred but it has happened rarely.
I did a quick sandbag WOD. It looked like it wasn’t going to be that bad. While doing the WOD and after I was finished it let me wondering what the fuck I was thinking
I was still feeling a little wound up from that thunderstorm the other day. I didn’t feel I could focus, so I skipped my strength today, but I did get a WOD in.
Some days go like this. I struggled with the WOD today, and it didn’t look like it would be that difficult on paper.
It has been some time since I’ve done a WOD that had devil press in it. I’ve been avoiding those with my arm acting up. Today was the first WOD that I’ve done with them in it and it felt better than I thought it would.
Sometimes counting during a WOD is just hard. This morning was a case where I kept losing count of either rounds or reps. Scores are really not all that important, so it’s no big deal.
I got my first COVID shot and then I surprised myself with how well I did on next Monday’s Vault WOD.
I did tomorrows Sandbag WOD a shot. I didn’t have a tone of time to do it since we had a lot of running around to do.
This morning I got a lot done in the garage. I was ready to get started out there in the home gym fairly early this morning.
We did Monday’s vault WOD last night. It was a fun little WOD. Because I wanted to have fun and fuck with Molly at the same time I wore my sea creature costume.
I pushed myself and went heavier on the dumbbell snatches in a WOD today. I used the 40 pound dumbbell. Normally I go lighter. I knew I could do it and it felt good to go heavier.
I did a repeat WOD today. I ended up shaving a good 3 minutes off my score from the last time I completed it.
Today I did the run version of Monday’s WOD. I did pretty well with the running and I hate running. Later we got out for a nice short little hike and a few caches.
I signed up for the Crossfit open this year but I’m not officially logging it because I didn’t realize the video requirements before hand. I did 21.2 this morning.
I did two logistically challenging WODs today. We are fortunate to have what we have but it’s not a great setup for certain WODs. I still did them.
I’m no fan of running in any way but with the decent weather I tried out my first running WOD since last fall and really surprised myself.
Yesterday was the first time I walked away from a WOD in close to a year. It just wasn’t working. Today I completed that WOD.
I did a WOD with wall walks in it today. I don’t like them in a WOD. I just can never seem to get them right.
I did my twenty rep squats today, and they went well. I also did a WOD with movements that I am neither comfortable with nor any good at.
There’s more than one way to make a WOD tougher. Today was one that I thought I could push myself with step ups which have always been a visual struggle for me.
Today I was really not feeling it. It was one of those dark and rainy winter days. I still got a WOD in. I did end up feeling better after the WOD but that’s usually the case
Today I did my twenty rep squats. I also got a couple of leg intensive WODs in.
Today I did last Monday’s WOD but used the RX forty pound dumbbells. I’ve been wanting to get out of my comfort zone with the weight of the dumbbells in WODs when appropriate and that seemed like a good one.
I am getting back into the heavier sandbag WODs again. My old rep fitness sandbag kept having the fillers open and make a mess so I sort of got away from having the two filler bags in it. That’s when they seemed to open.
Today I did a challenging WOD for me with movements I’m not comfortable with at all. The bear complexes I may have done one in the past. Devil presses aren’t something I’ve done a lot of either.
One thing that I love about repeating WODs is when you have improvements. I had a significant improvement on the repeat WOD I did today.
I did this weeks Street Parking sandbag WOD. It was pretty much an exercise in Murphy’s Law. I slipped and twisted my ankle on sweat doing lunges. Had trouble visually and a disappointing time. It was still a great workout.
Today I did two WODs. Both of them were mentally challenging for me but in different ways.
Today I wasn’t really feeling like doing a WOD or my lifts this morning but I got it done. I guess I’m just burnt out from tracking the tropical storm. Not every day is going to feel great.
I was not really feeling like doing any WODs today but I wound up completing two repeat WODs from Street Parking. I managed to PR both of my scores too!
I was thinking about passing on today’s WOD being tired and all but I gave the single shoulder squats a try. They felt awkward but not bad with the sandbag. It’s always so nice to find success out of my comfort zone.
Today’s WOD was one that I knew I could go heavy on with the sandbag and decided to go way out of my comfort zone. I wound up using a 100 pound sandbag for it.
After we got done with the grocery store I did my strength for today and it felt great. Power clean day!!
Today was a good day in the home gym. I did my lifts and they felt great. The WOD was tough but successful too. They always leave you feeling good.
Installing the air conditioner in the gym’s window is paying off now. I did my lifting with it on while it was in the middle 90s outside. Without the air I would have most likely failed due to heat.
It was a hot day in with the high shooting up into the middle nineties after a low in the low sixties. I still doubled up on WODs.
This morning began warm and very humid. I did my strength in that heat and humidity. I did a WOD during the afternoon. It was hot when I did the WOD but Thankfully much drier.
I can’t deny it. At least when it comes to doing WOD’s I’ve been a bit lazy. I did my first WOD since Sunday today.
I did my lifts today and turned my back squats into paused ones again to mix things up. It was light anyways. I also got tomorrow’s WOD done today.
This day was a challenging one for working out. I did my heavy lifts this morning then later on I did a sandbag WOD outside in the hot sun.
Successes and fails were the story today in the home gym. You can’t win them all.
I finally got around to doing my first sandbag WOD since I switched my filler bags from sand to pea gravel. The bag had about the same weight as I’d been using but a slightly different feel to it. That did make the WOD go a bit slower.
It never fails. When I decide to do a running WOD everyone needs to drive down our Alley. It can go hours without a car passing until I go out there to run. It seems that someone has to drive on it every lap.
I got back at my twenty rep front squats after skipping them last week. It’s still light but it felt pretty good.
I had some good things and some disappointing things happen in the garage today. I can’t really complain though. I got out there and did things.
I did a WOD today that was a repeat WOD. On today’s score I was a little over two minutes faster than the last time so that’s good progress in my eyes.
Today’s weather was pretty nice and it was mild. We took our bars and some bumper plates out into the backyard and did a deadlift WOD outside. That was nice.
It was a relatively nice day today so I did yesterday’s WOD’s running version. I also did tomorrow’s WOD since the weather will not be cooperative to do it then.
If there is one thing I can always count on it’s the raging appetite the day after a deadlift WOD. Not matter how much I eat it doesn’t seem to help.
Today was the was the worst I felt in a WOD in a long time. It was just a tough complex for me. It didn’t help that I was tired all day either.
Today it was sunny and got warm enough to take the bar outside for a WOD and it felt great. I have taken the sandbag out a few times on but it was nice to play with the bar.
Today was a good day for me in the home gym. It was one where things go much better than I expected. I really do wish they were a more common occurrence.
I’ve been able to keep the intensity up so far while doing the Street Parking WODs. They have less of a knack for throwing something in that slows me down than Crossfit did.
One thing I do miss about going to the gym is being able to do a WOD together. A lot of times we don’t have the space to do that here. Today we were able to do the sandbag version of today’s WOD together!
Today’s high was in the 60s. That meant I got to go unwind on the patio in the sunshine after the two WODs today.
After doing the WOD this morning I realized the bench was out of the way i figured I’d try some pull ups. They felt pretty good aFter being sloppy for a while. I could never do pull ups until I was nearly 40 year old.
We were able to do yesterday’s WOD together. I miss doing that and a lot of times we just can’t due to space. It was great to do it yesterday!
Today I did two WODs with the 75 pound sandbag. That sandbag was a good investment. I really like using it a lot.
We started doing Street Parking WODs about a month or so ago and I noticed they had a sandbag WOD once a week and options in many of the daily WODs. I picked up a Brute Force sandbag and love this addition to our toy box.
I like some hero WODs from Crossfit as benchmarks. Dt was one that I really liked. It was a tough fight the first time I did it. This time I did it with 135 pounds instead of 95 pounds and much more quickly too.
Yesterday in Crossfit we redid the 14.1 Crossfit open WOD I had a score of 98 this time around versus I think 70 from last year. My snatches were ugly back then. It really got me thinking about the improvements I’ve been making.
