Molly had off this weekend, and I noticed some new geocaches got published close to home. The one was on a brand new Lancaster County Conservancy property that we had never been to, so we went out to check it out and hope for a FTF.

There was an attempt to get out caching today. It didn't go so well due to forgetting that a park allows hunting, but at least we got a bit of fresh air.

We walked over to vote this morning and finally got coffee from the new coffee shop. By late morning, the sky had cleared, and the temperature had started shooting up. We wound up going geocaching on the Ephreta to Warwick rail trail.

We were finally able to grab a few caches after running to a couple of stores today. We went over to Overlook park for a nice walk in the sun and warm day.

After a cool start to the day in the morning, it warmed up nicely. About noon Molly wanted to go out caching so we headed over to the Northwest River Trail.

We have been wanting to get out and check out the new bridge that they opened for the Enola Low Grade trail. Well, it's not new, they just made it more usable. We finally made it down there today.

Molly never has off on holidays but this time she did. We thought we'd go geocaching at Rocky Ridge Park in York County. We didn't anticipate it being so busy.

We don't get the chance to get out hiking and geocaching as much as we used to or would like to but today we did. We enjoyed a nice short hike at Governor Dick and found several caches including one we had a 6 year old DNF on.

Every so often there are places that aren't natural but turn into really nice places to visit or hike. Lake Grubb in Lancaster count is one of those spots.

Today I did the run version of Monday's WOD. I did pretty well with the running and I hate running. Later we got out for a nice short little hike and a few caches.

For my birthday this year I was given a Garmin 66s. I really like it. It takes the good from the Garmin 62s I had but has a better GPS chip or at least it seems to.

We went to do a few geocaches today, and it turned out to be a strange day. We saw strange insects and upon our googling we found out that they were spotted lantern flies.

The other day, the stars aligned so that we'd be able to get outside on a nice day and find a few geocaches. It was a nice walk on the Lancaster Junction Trail, and we saw some farm animals in the fields that border the trail.

I upgraded from my old Garmin 62s to the 64s. I really do like it. Signal wise, it's not quite as good as the old trusty 60csx, but there are other features that make up for that.

I came across some old pictures from when we did the thousand steps cache. That was a great little hike, and we hit the mountain on the perfect day to enjoy the fall foliage.

I came across some pictures while preparing to upgrade my computer and found some from neat things we saw while geocaching. We were at the Quecreek Mine Rescue site for a virtual cache when we did a road trip and that was interesting.

We got over to Chickies Rock Park for a geocache today. Sadly, the cache was a DNF for us, but we did get to see some pretty spring flowers in bloom.

We decided to go over to Cove Park for a quick cache. We saw a woolly bear caterpillar on the trail. It got me thinking how my grandparents used to think that their colors predicted the winter.

We finally got out to find Raiders Of The Lost Cache. It's a highly acclaimed local cache in an area we've been to many times. Today we finally got back out there. The cache was worth it.

With us not really getting much geocaching in recently I haven't paid much attention to GPSrs. I just came across the Garmin 62s and that really looks like it could be a good upgrade from the 60csx.

I really liked the Delorme PN-40 but it wasn't for me. Mine had a really short battery life which I returned. The next one didn't work. A bit disappointed in that but I hope they can make them better. It could be competitive with Garmin, especially with the included maps.

Garmin's customer support is great. My 60csx was two years old and well out of the warranty. For some reason It wouldn't acquire satellites out of nowhere. I tried some fixes I googled then called Garmin and tried some things they had me do with no luck. They sent me a replacement which didn't ower on but then they sent me a good one.

I just saw the Garmin Colorado GPS is being released. It sounds like it may have improved. I'd love to play with one in person. It looks interesting and has paperless caching features.

The other day a guy that lives a few houses down was talking about visiting a ghost town in western PA. It reminded me of the time caching with CCCA when we visited Pithole.

We recently went geocaching in a new place to us called Kelly's run. It's one of the gorges along the Susquehanna river in southern Lancaster County.
