We Were Supposed To Be At Today's Phillies Game

Today we intended to go to the Phillies game. We were very excited about it and that chance to see Luzardo pitch again.

To plenty of people it would have been a boring game; I think most people just want home runs. A blowout with plenty of home runs is absolutely fun too! It wasn’t boring for me, though. I love a good pitchers’ duel. The same goes with a nice defensive battle in football or even hockey.

The way Jesus has been throwing it, it was just a matter of time until he had a complete game shutout. He had that bit of a rough start this year, but man, he has really settled in.

Last year we were at that one shitter he threw where he gave up numerous runs. It was painful to watch him for a time then, but I was pretty confident that he would figure it out, and he did. Walker, on the other hand, I never had any hope for. He just didn’t have it.

At least I could watch today’s game on TV. It is not the same as being at the old ballpark, but it works, and it is what I have had to do most of my life. At least during the periods when we could get the games here, I watched many of them. Even during the dark days of Rubén, I watched, and during the pandemic.

Speaking of Rubén, I could have done without having to listen to his face on TV. Sure he knows baseball, but he rambles far too much and thinks he knows a lot more than he does.
