Presses Felt Easy This Morning
Last night I slept pretty well. I did wake up this morning after having a very strange dream. It was not good or bad, but it was one of those dreams that will linger in my head.
My mind has been so full of clutter the past few months, though, and it seems to be getting a bit worse. Just doing the best I can to stay out of my head too much.
Aside from the off feeling from the dream, I was feeling pretty good this morning. It was still warm but maybe slightly less humid than it has been, so as I was drinking my coffee, I was thinking about wanting to get out into the garage very early to get my presses in.
A little after sunrise, I got changed and headed out into the home gym to get my work done. At least the lifting part. Hopefully I will do a WOD later today.
The lighter sets felt exceptional this morning. They were going up so easily, and I felt fully connected. I was not favoring one side like I did last week with that leg issue I had going on, so I moved pretty quickly up through the weights.
The final AMRAP at 1+ reps called for 120 pounds. There was a time back when we went to the CrossFit gym that this weight was heavy for me on most days, but not lately and not at all today. I got an easy-peasy 4 reps at this weight, and I felt like I had a strong lockout too.
It is such a strange thing for me how, as of late, presses have been my lifts that felt great. Normally, squats are the best-feeling lifts, and presses are a grind. Right now it is the opposite. I am loving it, though. I guess it is like anything else in life. Everything has ebbs and flows. One day at a time is the theme for the recent days.
No music this morning since it was too early. To want to disturb the neighbors.
