Why did I go back to a VPS for my hosting? Because I like learning and tinkering and controlling exactly what is installed.

I have been itching to go back to a VPS. It is a lot more fun and rewarding than using shared hosting like I have been using.

I have been using LaunchVPS for a while now and it’s been great. It has always just worked. Better yet is it has a very reasonable price.

Back to Vultr. Every time I move someplace else I seem to eventually wind up back on Vultr. They offer a good service for a good price.

I am thinking about setting up a personal Mastodon instance or something similar.

I got the itch to try out a new hosting provider. It seems to happen every so often for me. It’s so spontaneous when I get that itch. While doing that I decided to try out ZFS, finally after all these years and the PF firewall.
