Firefly Petunia From Seeds Glowing

I had been at least a little disappointed to not really see any glow from the Firefly petunias that I grew from the seeds I collected last fall. The ones that germinated have been growing well. The first one is really growing now. Last night I noticed the stems have a glow to them.

Seeing the glow was a nice surprise after I had written it off. By being disappointed, I don’t mean I was upset that they didn’t glow. I was just hopeful that they would. There was never a guarantee.

The pink ones I ordered over the winter were delivered yesterday too. I bought both the solid pink and the striped pink ones. These seem to glow more brightly than last year’s white ones so far. They also seem to be less stressed than the ones I got last year, but I think those were delivered in the heat if I am remembering correctly.

These new ones are supposed to be faster growers and grow larger. We shall see how that works out, but the ones in the past have exceeded my expectations. When I bought the first batch, I thought it would be some sort of gimmick, but they really did give off a light!

It will be interesting to see how the new ones do this year once they are planted outside and adjust. The same with the ones I grew from the seeds.

I forgot to grab pictures last night. I may have had too much to drink to get any, but I will grab some in the near future and share them in a post on here, I am sure at some point.
