Finished WOD But Knee Went A Little Wonky

To start things off on the right foot, this morning, I woke up feeling good but a bit tired. I fell asleep quickly but woke up early. I almost always wake up early, so it’s actually nothing new. My brain just says ok time to get up!

I drank my coffee and then did stuff on here while finishing my coffee after Molly left for work. I was thinking I wanted to get a WOD in earlier this morning and see how my leg felt. Last evening, like any normal visually impaired person, I didn’t see something at the bottom of the stairs, and my foot tried to occupy the same space-time continuum. I reacted and sort of hyperextended my knees a bit. It was fine and is fine.

Eventually I settled on doing the on-ramp workout with hang snatches. I pushed the snatches speedwise a little and slowed down the hopovers. I went with the 30-pound dumbbell as a balance between too intense for this day and too light.

It was the perfect weight to choose. I was moving along just fine, then about halfway through the workout I felt my knee start getting just a little wonky. It was okay to keep moving, but it did and still feels like it just needs to crack. That is probably exactly what needs to happen.

It happens every so often. Regularly after I miss a step off a curb or something, I feel my knee twist awkwardly a bit. The well-known fictional skydaddy should know about that. I was able to keep going in the workout, and it felt fine. Even loosened up a bit after a few reps of snatches.

I wound up getting the same score as I normally get with this one. The snatches are easy, but hop overs are just slow at best. Its a simple enough workout though without the over thought stuff they have been programming recently. If they had been pushing weird special programs as often as they do now, I probably would have never signed up for street parking. I am too lazy to search something else out and can usually find something to do.

It wasn’t as long or as intense as I would have liked to do for a Sunday workout, but I got something done and got the heart rate up a bit. I made something work for this day and these conditions. That is where success comes from.

Music today was Ad Nauseam.
