Finally Got A WOD In
Last night I slept great. It was certainly much needed, but I woke up after 5:00 AM! I think it was a combination of the just-right air temperature and humidity with the fan in the window. The white noise and the slight air on my face certainly helped make for a wonderful nightβs sleep.
I woke up feeling great. I did not have any stiffness in that leg when I got out of bed, so I was thinking I wanted to get a simple and easy WOD in before it got too warm outside.
So far this week I have been doing my lifts except for my squats. I havenβt gotten to those yet. Those will likely get done tomorrow or Saturday.
Yesterday I did my strict presses, and they felt great. I got an easy rep at the programmed 120 pounds. I was considering doing a WOD after that but decided not to after my hamstring got a quick cramp but a deep cramp when I squatted down for a couple of seconds to look for something I had dropped. If I am remembering correctly, I think it was the change plate. Remember, I am visually impaired, so 90% of my looking around is actually feeling around.
Yesterday I chose not to do the WOD since my hamstring seemed to still be a bit angry. It is just too easy for me to get caught up in moving during a WOD so I try not to do them if I have something like this going on. I have said numerous times on here I would rather miss a few days now than a few months because I pushed. I certainly try to do my best to stick with that.
For this workout today, I went with a shift one that was just 30 seconds of rowing and low jumps and hang cleans with the dumbbells. I thought all three movements would be good to get that hammy working. The jumps I thought would be best, and I really focused on not falling into the habit of favoring the opposite leg.
I grabbed a shower when I was done. I am tempted to hop on the rower or bike later today, but that may not be the wisest of choices, so I was hoping a shower would possibly make me think twice about it. There will be time enough to push it later.
Music for the WOD was Frameshift.
