Back After A Few Days off, Presses Felt Great
This morning I woke up feeling really good. My nose was super stuffy but that is nothing new. I was thinking that I wanted to get back to my lifts early this morning. I was feeling very refreshed and recharged too!
Molly had vacation so we did other stuff when she had off. We got out geocaching and did some other running around. I normally do still squeeze my lifts in but this time I decided not too. The geocaching was a great way to get outside. WE would have been robbing ourselves if we did not take advantage of he perfect fall weather to get out when she had off during it.
A factor in that decision was I got a bit dehydrated after the one longer day geocaching. I didn’t drink much water that day then when we got home we relaxed a bit and went to Joy’s for supper and some drinks.
The next morning I went to stretch my leg a bit and felt a deep cramp. It went away pretty quickly. Don’t tell anyone I stretched. I guess that is what I get for going against my better judgment! I decided to take it easy for a couple of days and did just that. I was planning on doing this cycle’s last week squats that day but obviously skipped that after the cramp.
I thought about getting out there yesterday before we had to do some running around but time got away from me and I was to tired when we got home. I was just burned out when we got home. The kids wore me out.
I got out in the garage very early this morning to do my pressers. As soon as it was light enough is when I got changed to head out there. Moved everything around to get to the rack and got started on my strict presses. I may do a WOD later. We shall see get up the cumption to search one out to do.
The warm up sets actually felt great. I was working my way up through the weights quickly. I thought it was too fast so I actually had to keep trying to force myself to rest longer and slow down.
The working sets felt perfect and easy for me this morning. The final AMRAP programmed for today called for 1+ reps at 130 pounds. Back in the day that would been a challenge for me for 1 rep but I got an easy two reps in this morning. I had more in the tank but did not want to g overboard. My shoulder was a bit angry the past couple days so I took the two and ran with it. I was happy with that.
It felt great to get back under the bar. I am not going to lie though it also felt good to take a step back and take a little break from then grind. Almost any day for me out in the garage especially lift in is an automatically better day for me than when it started.
Music this morning was Alkaloid.
