These Kids Need A Hobby

Every day, all day long, for the most part, there are some kids from down the street that hang out on the corner. All day long the make trucks beep. Trucks coming from one direction tend to be right about in front of our house when they see it, so it’s right out the windows. All day.

You would think the novelty of it would have worn off. Then again, they have the truck doing it at the bus stop fairly early in the morning.

We watched the same kids messing with the neighbor’s garage, which is covered with poison ivy, so we told them about poison ivy, figuring they probably didn’t know. They actually thank us and haven’t messed with it since.

They were also messing with that homeowner’s tractor that he has parked there and turned the lights on. I cannot lie and say I wouldn’t have thought about messing with a tractor, but I can assure you my ass would have been beat for messing with other people’s stuff.

For me, it is just a small annoyance, but the neighbor works from home. I can only imagine that has interrupted the meeting for her.

I have always said let kids be kids and still say it, but maybe it’s time to keep the annoying things in check a little. Like, make them honk as you’re walking past or something, but don’t hang out at the same corner all the time.

I guess the positive thing about it is that they are actually outside most of the day and not sitting in front of a device.
