Who Knew We Would Need The Fan In The Bedroom Window In April?

The heat sure turned on this year. We had a few days in the 80s in March, which felt hot. The windows being open was not enough.

I am not ready for this summer heat. As I get older, I have been able to tolerate it more during the day but not at night when I am trying to sleep. I like when it’s nice and cool to sleep. The cooler, the better, even. It’s great to me that we don’t have usable heat in our bedroom.

The fan helped some last night, but it was a slow process. We didn’t put it in the window until the middle of the night, though. Who would have guessed we might need it this early?

Newer fans are annoyingly louder than the older ones are. I don’t know if it’s because the blades are thinner and shaped differently or something else. I think I had read some time ago that it is a combination of the above.

The high yesterday was up close to 90 but didn’t quite make it there. That helped heat the house up with the windows open. All day long there was a nice breeze coming through the house. That always seems to die off near or after sunset.

Last evening while I was watching the Phillies lose, I couldn’t help but reminisce about the mountains and how the opposite would happen up there. The temperature would drop quickly after sunset, and it didn’t take long for the slight cool breeze to be coming down the mountain as the air drained into the valley. That is a strong memory for me.
