Second January Day To Get Some Sunshine
Last night it wound up getting a little colder than the yesterday morning was but it wasn’t bad at all. Just into the upper 20s, which is mild by early January standards around here. I do love the cold weather and snow, but there’s something about a nice day too. It brings some inner peace, like I said yesterday.
I got a quick workout in late this morning after I grabbed a shower. I know I did things backwards, but at this time of the year it’s not a big deal. It isn’t hot and humid. Molly had gotten a shower before she left, so that meant that hot water was up through the pipes, so I decided to grab one then. The pipes have a long run from the hot water heater to the bathroom.
The WOD went well enough. I may do some snatches or something a bit later, but the sunshine outside was calling my name.
Late this morning, the temperature was in the lower 50s outside, but there was hardly any breeze. The skies were clear with the strongest sunshine of the day or at least close to that time of the day. I took some cushions out on the patio chair and just laid by head back and chilled for a little while listening to the outside sounds. It felt great and automatically put me in a better mood!
Not too long after I went outside, the sun began to fade. Around lunchtime, some high, but thin and hazy, clouds started to move through. That made it seem summery. I can’t really complain too much. Typically, at this time of the year, the mild days are cloudy and usually have rain and strong southerly winds. Today we have neither of those. Those clouds didn’t really dull the sunshine too much. It was more like it was enough to soften the edges of the shadows.
