Philly Was Green Friday Night
We were in Philadelphia on Friday night for a concert. I wrote about it elsewhere but wanted to share a few pictures of Center City in green for the upcoming Superbowl. It deserves it’s on post for my memories, plus that’s separate from the concert. Well, kind of separate. I did wear my Saquon Barkley jersey to the show instead of a band shirt. It seemed most of the people there were in Eagles Gear.
The city was very cool to see illuminated in green after the show. We were too tired to wander around too much to see more than City Hall and the large church, but that alone was worth seeing. I just wish we’d been on that upper floor in the hotel to see this.
I knew it was going to be a good trip when some said go birds as we got on the train here in Mount Joy. Heard several Eagles chance at 30th Street station when we went to the bathroom and went to get on the El to get to our hotel. Heard plenty more in Center City, and plenty of “Go Birds!” too.
I never experienced that when I was younger. For one thing, the lighting technology wasn’t there like it is now. The more important factor is that while the Eagles had some good years, they mostly sucked. We as fans have been fortunate since Jeffrey Lurie bought the team. We can throw out the Chip Kelly years once he was figured out by the league.
