Bought Myself Something A Little Different

Several years ago I had bought one from Amazon to mess with my girlfriend and make her laugh. It was a black one. It was extremely comfortable to me. I wore that onesie every so often, and I think if I remember right, one of the snaps broke off the bottom of the bodysuit or something. I can’t remember for sure.

Also it was just something I was curious about trying, and I found out that I liked it. I have been curious since I was a little kid. Plenty of oddball things intrigued me. Back then I never really voiced it. I would have been called gay and such. Hell, I probably would have called myself that for liking what I liked. I am not and it it really doesn’t matter if I was. We Gen-Xers were little assholes though.

That was a few years ago, and now I was thinking that I wanted to try one again. My mind is much more open than it was back then. I mean, it was always open, but each year that passes, the fewer fucks I give about what anyone else thinks.

In the time since I had that, I have found that I like working out wearing leggings and do so more often than not unless it’s summer very hot temperatures and humidity. Not only that, but a lot of them I found are brightly colored and stuff. Those are from Kapow. There are other men’s places I haven’t tried yet. I am hesitant because I found what works for me.

I have had several in a wishlist on Amazon for just-because stuff but never got around to buying them. Last year there was one that didn’t fit right that I got. Amazon can be so weird like that, though. Fortunately stuff is cheap. Some things on that list are funny stuff I might wear to work out and stuff like that.

I had ordered one a few weeks ago and tried it on. It fit good, and it was comfortable and all that. Last evening we went and got adult slushies. I grabbed a shower and put it on under my swovie shorts after the shower. I was going to wait and see what my girlfriend’s reach would be when I got ready for bed, but she got a text from one of the grandchildren wanting her to go to the mall with her.

That was some black one from Amazon that was pretty cheap, so it was worth it to try out. It was probably a little thinner than I’d like, but very comfortable and worked well with my shorts.

There seem to be plenty of options on there under the name “onesie.” A onesie, a bodysuit, I think the page even sand romper. Call it what ever you want. I don’t care what it’s called. Half the stuff on Amazon’s listings is just poorly used broken English from the Chinese companies. Most of it is just SEO keyword word salad to manipulate Amazon’s search algorithm. When possible, I try to buy from the source or smaller shops.

Plenty of colorful ones that I’d wear around the house. Amazon’s search, though, is so terrible half the results if you search specifically for men show women’s stuff too. Clothing, aside from the fit should not be inherently gendered but I don’t base anything on the that. Of course we are shaped differently and stuff like that, so that matters with fit.

I think I originally found the first one searching for “onesie” but I was thinking of the fleece things that people wear as pajamas and around the house. I do a lot during the winter because the heat in our house is garbage and so is the insulation. We just have space heaters in certain rooms. Those work for me and are insanely comfortable.

Perhaps one day I will try something that is not just plain black or even another plain color. The fucks I once had to give have long since expired. That has ramped up so much more over the past several years. It started with COVID when we missed out on a lot in life while everyone else did as they pleased and then were shocked when they got sick.

These past few years I have really embraced my oddball self in many ways.

It sucks that in regular stores, choices for men are so limited in general, and ninety percent of it is just different versions or brands of the same thing. At least t-shirts are easy enough to find. It is wonderful that you can find so much online, but sizing and all is a lot of guessing. Normally I do pretty well at guessing, but not always.

Band t-shirts are not as easy to find unless you order them online or buy them at a show. We don’t get to go to many shows. Also, I probably wouldn’t wear a lot of the band’s shorts I like these days around too much. I’d get put on a list for sure! I do want to get an Alkaloid one though!

Amazon has a lot of weird Chinese-made stuff that has weird sizing and stuff. A lot of what is on there is a knockoff of something else, and a poor knockoff at that. At least there are options, though.

I could actually imagine it is very comfortable to sleep in when it’s a little cooler, and I might give that a try. I hate how a t-shirt comes up when I roll around, and I am such a furnace that my onesie that I wear around the house sometimes is too hot. If it is too cold, I can fall asleep in it but wake up really overheated. Our bedroom is unheated. I have had several over the years and will keep getting them as they wear out.

I think that I have figured out that I like wearing one-piece things. It’s just somehow comforting to me. Generally it seems like it calms my mind a bit too. I don’t know why it does that, but it does. I need more of that in my life!

Life is short I say have fun with it. If you’re taking it too seriously, you’re doing it wrong. As far as being different from the mold and worrying about fitting in don’t be bother with those trifles. I know I can’t be. Let your weird light shine!
