Weblog
Over the years this website has morphed a lot. Anything that has been around for decades will morph. Some things I have tried and didn’t like or stick with.
What it has become the most is my personal weblog. That is what this page will go over.
The blog has morphed over the years and has become mostly focused on my fitness-related stuff with some pictures and other stuff sprinkled in here and there. I post that stuff for my memories mainly. I do also have to admit I do share it with the hope it may inspire someone else to do things to help themselves. The main reason, though, is for my records. It’s easy to grep on the computer or find something online by date from anywhere since my site is public and there is no login information.
I do have many posts with more personal stuff and thoughts or ideas too. Those are more infrequent, but they are stuff I feel like I want to voice.
With those types of posts, I generally write it and let it sit as an unpublished draft for a bit to gel. Depending on the subject, sometimes I am not sure whether I want it to be too public, but it does help me to write the post even if it is never shared.
Normally I have a couple of posts sitting as drafts that I don’t publish when I am ready to. I do not change the date when I do switch off the draft to allow it to get published but i will change the the updated date.
I sometimes forget, and it can be months. It’s better that way, though I am not sure because the tubes of the interwebs never forget. Once something is published. It is cached, stored, fed to AI, and possibly downloaded. Even if none of those things occurred, someone may have seen it, and there is no way to make people unsee stuff.
Over the years there may be a handful of posts that I removed, not counting the few times when glitches happened and caused multiple copies to be there.
Comments would be a neat feature to have sometimes but with this site being generated by an SSG now there really isn’t any reasonable way to do it. On the plus side, by not having them, there are no cookies, logins, or tracking.
