Sunset With Snow

Something came up this evening, so we had to go for a little drive. We wound up being treated to an amazing sunset over the farms and towns of Lancaster County. It has been a while since we had that opportunity.

This first picture is a very zoomed-in one of the very tip of the sun being the only part that is above the hill on the horizon. We got to a somewhat open area on the highway at just the right time that I could catch this picture.

This next picture is what I think many people would think of as the prototypical view in Lancaster County during the winter. It is of the sun setting over a farm. I think that most people who are not from here think that’s what the area is when in reality it is really built up in these areas except for southern Lancaster County. There are still numerous farms left, though, and we were driving past this one at the right time today.

I thought the several tiny illuminated clouds in the picture added to the sunset. They were there the whole time, but at certain points they were much brighter.

What a great way to settle down towards the end of the day. Mother Nature is perfect.
