Nice To Get A Little Patio Sunshine After Two WODs

I was feeling pretty decent this morning, so I got a WOD in around lunchtime. I didn’t get a lot out of that WOD since it had hop-overs, which are just not good for me. The sets of 12 cleans with the dumbbell felt pretty decent, though. They had squats in them, but I refuse to use the term squat cleans. It sounds and is stupid.

The dew point was high, and the floor and ground are still cold, so the floor in the garage was damp from the condensation. It happens every spring. That makes things a little slippery, so I took the hop-overs a tad slower to make sure my feet didn’t slide out from under me. The same with the cleans. I went a little lighter. Using the 25-pound dumbbells was good enough for today. Those felt pretty decent.

A little while later I did a WOD that was 5 sets of two minutes of some number of hang power cleans and squats, then row for the remainder of the time. During this workout I went with the 35-pound dumbbells. Those cleans and squats felt great. The floor was a little more slick, but I had no issues sliding except once when I went to get on the rower. This workout got my heart rate much higher, and it felt great.

The wet floor situation is annoying, but it happens every spring. As the ground warms up, it will be less of a problem. I work around it.

Music for the WODs was irreversible Mechanism.

For a short while I went out on the patio and sat in the nice warm sunshine between my WODs. I spent maybe 15 or 20 minutes out there. I don’t want to get sunburned but want to get some sun to reduce that later when we do things like go to baseball games where there isn’t a choice but to be out in it.

After the second WOD, I went out on the patio for a little longer. The sun was higher, and it was in the middle 70s with a pleasant breeze. The dew point was dropping slowly too. That felt amazing to me and really put my mind at ease.

This past month or so I have been having quite a bit of depression from things that are beyond my control. Also, I think I am just having very low vitamin D. That is one of the reasons I wanted to get outside. The weather has not been very conducive to doing that this past month or so. I have also been twitchy and achy. My vitamin D is always low to very low.

The sun and fresh air felt great on me, though. I even kept my shorts on instead of pants to go outside. It was relaxing to hear the outside sounds. I saw a bird fly just in front of me. It always improves my mood so much to get the fresh air and sunshine.

I even had the bathroom window open upstairs again today to let some of that fresh outside air come in after the stuffiness in here of the winter. That lasted until the farm decided to spread liquid shit behind us. I am not sure why they do it because it doesn’t look like they actually grow anything there.
