I Have Been Watching The Flyers Again

This season I have caught a few Flyers games on TV. I love the sport of hockey but, for some reason, go in phases when I watch it. The fact that my team, the Philadelphia Flyers, sucked for a long time doesn’t help much.

This year the Flyers are playing pretty good hockey, and they are a pretty young team. It has been exciting to watch them. For a long time when I would watch a game, it was just an expected loss. For a long time, it seemed that as a team they didn’t care too much. They had bad management and bad coaching, so that didn’t help matters. Watching your team lose isn’t much fun.

Recently, I have been talking to my mom, and on more than one occasion, I have said I wouldn’t mind going to a game. I really would love to go to an Eagles game too, but that would be too expensive. On second thought, at this point at least, I do not want to go to an Eagles game at all. The team either doesn’t care or has forgotten how to play football.

My mom would go with my dad, who often would ask me to go. He would get tickets through work. He was pretty close with my brother back then, and they went together, so I would tell him to take that brother or go with my mother. I was truly happy to see my parents getting some time together. They really didn’t do much together, and having four kids very young didn’t give them a chance if they wanted to.

Hockey is so fast-paced and exciting to watch. Things can change completely in a second or two. Back in the day when the New Jersey Devils employed the neutral zone trap, games could feel a little boring if the Devils got the lead.
