Firefly Petunia Seedlings Are Growing Nicely

I have been keeping an eye on them. It’s not that difficult to do since I have to move the tray they are in most days when I am outside in the garage gym working out.

The two seedlings that sprouted are growing and seem to be doing pretty well. The one had been laid over, and I thought it wasn’t going to make it, but now it’s standing up. They still have just the two leaves, but the leaves are growing and the stem is getting thicker and taller each day. The growth is a little slower than I thought it might be, but it is a steady growth. Each day they look a little bigger and the stem a bit sturdier.

As of this morning, I did not notice any glowing from them. The plants are still tiny and don’t really produce a ton of light to begin with. I did not really expect them to glow or even grow.

So far only the two seeds have sprouted, but the seeds are so tiny it’s not exactly easy to tell what is a seed and what is junk from the seed pod. There was no guarantee they were all ready either. I grabbed them from the plants the afternoon before the first frost last fall. I see it more as an experiment than anything else. There was no harm in trying them out to see what happens.

It is neat to watch nature do her thing. Yes, I know they are bastardized genetically modified plants, but they are still following nature’s processes. I will call them my Frankenstein plants.
