Cigarettes Are Disgusting
I know I have complained about this before, but here we go again! Last evening we went to Joy’s after things interfered with our going our normal night. Our table was just below a heater vent. Above the bar there are apartments.
Recently, we have been noticing the stench of cigarettes coming from the heater vents. Last night it was particularly strong. The other thing is that, just like all but maybe one or two people that I have ever known that smoked those cancer sticks, it was one after another.
We just cannot seem to get away from that carcinogenic stench. Our neighbor, whom I am sure I have complained about, is a chain smoker. All summer long he sits on this front porch, one after another, sitting there looking all dejected. We cannot have our front door open if they are home because the smoke pours through the entire house all day long.
He has been smoking in the house too. Every morning the bathroom smells like an ashtray when he gets up. That stench hangs on all day, and it just smells like a stale ashtray.
The smoke leeches through the walls into our closet, so our clothes in the closet reek of that stale ashtray stench. I think this dolt has doubled down on his smoking after being diagnosed with cancer. His wife said it’s not from that. They are not the sharpest tools in the drawer.
I have always believed there should be strong rules to protect us non-smokers from secondhand smoke. Yes, smoking is legal and their choice to do that, but it should not overshadow our right to live in a house free of the stench, even though we have never smoked in here. We know laws will never be passed about that due to the strong tobacco lobby. I am shocked at the laws that have been passed.
Same thing about people smoking at doors to most public places. I think they light up as soon as they walk out the door.
