Broke In My Donuts Plates With Twenty Rep Squats

I was pretty tired this morning, and it took me forever to get moving. I had thought about doing a WOD earlier, but one thing led to another, and procrastination won out. We had to go to the country store, which meant I was waiting around for Molly too. I just spent most of the morning on my ass on the couch on my tablet.

Finally, we went out to the store, and I grabbed a sandwich to eat and ate that. It perked me up some, and by early afternoon I was thinking I wanted to get out in the garage and do something. I have also been wanting to break in my Christmas gifts. My girlfriend got me a set of the Donots and Pizza plates from Fringe Sport. I have been wanting them for years because I am immature, but I am also cheap, so I didn’t want to order them.

When I opened the box, I really thought they looked better in person than the pictures on the website. The sprinkles on the donuts and pepperoni and stuff on the pizzas are actually raised!

For today, I had it in my head that I had to do 205 pounds for my twenty reps squats, so it worked out perfect that I could use a set of the plates. I went with the donuts because they were on top. The plates fit pretty tightly on the bar but sure looked neat. The sun had come out when I was finished, so the pink looked neat in the bright sunshine.

The squats felt okay, and I got my 20 reps in with no real issues. Sure, at this weight, they start feeling quite miserable on some days. Today was one of those days, but I got it done. My main fuckup was that when I went to log it, I realized I skipped 200 pounds, so I was heavier than I should have been this week. I guess I was thinking of doing them but never did. Always pay attention! I still have plenty more in the tank to increase the weight, as long as I can stop my mind from telling me no.

These plates are neat-looking and will add a nice touch to the home gym. I am big on the if you’re not having fun, you’re doing it wrong way of thinking. These are fun. They are expensive, but the quality seems nice. The fact that they come in a pizza box and a donut box respectively is a nice touch!
