MakoSolutions

MakoSolutions was my first delve into running a dedicated server. It worked well enough for me until it didn’t. It was running Linux, and I didn’t read things clearly enough about an update, and I lost access to the server. I did not contact customer service for help. Instead I moved on.

It used CentOS, which I never really liked using. For one reason or another, it just never clicked with me. I think it has more to do with Linux distros being so fragmented.

The connection was flaky at times. It used BurstNET. If you were hosting anything on their networks back then, you would know what I mean. It was cheap. When it worked, it worked great, but there were often times when it was down for one reason or another.
