Visit Scotland

While I have not really ever talked about it since I was young, I have always been intrigued by Scotland. It has always been part of my heritage. I knew that. Now I know it is more a part of me.

The Scottish Highlands, to me, just look like they might be the most perfect place in the world for me. I have always been drawn to the idea of going there.

My family has deep roots in Scotland and the clans. Clan Mackenzie is in our history. I should have always known that, but for some reason, it just never really clicked until I started looking at Ancestry. Ancestry is something I hadn’t looked at in years since my dad died. Before that I hadn’t looked into it since the 1990s. I never really thought too much of that aspect. For reasons I won’t get into here, I had always distanced myself from much of that side of the family. I just wanted to visit the Highlands because it looked like a place I would want to see.

It would be so fascinating to me to see where my roots come from. Apparently we had castles, and one of them is still there.

This is something I would love to have the opportunity to do, but I know it’s most likely never going to happen. One can dream, though, right?
